Samsung laptop

Over the last decade, you've probably lusted after some sleekly designed Samsung cell phone, MP3 player, or flat-screen TV, but unfortunately you've never had the chance to lust after a Samsung laptop. That's because, unlike the rest of the world, Samsung's laptops have never been available in the U.S. – until now. Today, Samsung unveiled a new line of high-end portable computers, which will be available online at sites such as Amazon.com, NewEgg.com, Buy.com, and TigerDirect.com later this month. We got an early hands-on with the laptops when Samsung stopped for a visit a couple of weeks ago, and were impressed with the look and feel of the new models. The snazziest of the new models are the 13.3- and 14.1-inch ultra thin X360 and X460, which are designed to go head-to-head with the MacBook Air and the Lenovo X300. These two-toned beauties are just under three pounds and are said to have a superlative 10 hours of battery life, despite having SuperBright LED backlit displays. We're curious to try out the battery life for ourselves, but 10 hours is about as good as it gets. All in all are slick-looking laptops that won't take up much space in your backpack, but we wish they had built-in mobile broadband capability, as the Lenovo X300 and even smaller Sony TZ series do.

Worlds thinnest laptop

Good news for MacBook Air fans! (and for me) According to AppleInsider, the price for a brand new MacBook Air with Solid State Drive got cut off with $500. So as you can see in the picture prepared by the editors at AppleInsider, the price dropped from $3,098 to $2,598 in just a month. If you haven’t noticed yet, the price for NAND Flash memories is getting lower and the 1.6GHz model with SSD drive is available now at $2,398, which is a significant difference compared to the initial cost. This happened after Apple reduced the price for the 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor to $200, and the drop off the 64GB SSD drive price to $599 from $999.At this moment, the other version of the MacBook Air with Intel Core 2 Duo processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB memory, 80GB PATA hard drive at4 4200 rpm, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and Wi-Fi module, costs $1,799. The PATA hard drive, also known as Advanced Technology Attachment with Packet Interface, is the original ATA interface that connects hard disks, solid state disks and CD-ROM drives inside computers. PATA allows for parallel connectivity with cable lengths of up to 18 inches, but after SATA standard came out it conquered the market even if PATA was the most popular interface. Serial Advanced Technology Attachment allows for faster data transfers, supporting hot-swapping (replacing devices during operation), thinner cables for more efficient cooling, and improved data integrity checks.

Ego lifestyle laptops by Inclosia

The Ego Lifestyle has created the E-Go, the world’s first line of lifestyle notebooks to incorporate real fabrics into mass production. These laptops called Ego laptops can outdo your vanity and perhaps even give it an inferiority complex! They don`t come in many shapes and sizes but they do come in many skin types. Pink for the girly ones, and these animal prints for the more wild at heart but your ultimate power trip in life- one with the leather jacket made out of snakeskin and another studded with diamonds.Designed in part by a Dutch jeweller, the most expensive version features a diamond tulip on the front, and a diamond accent on the hand rest. The cheapest version, the Tulip Ego, is making it to the US for Rs 2.25 lakh, but the other versions aren’t destined for US shores, presumably being reserved for Russian oligarchs and oil barons.Shaped a bit like the original Apple iBook, the notebook has a helpful handle for carrying purposes, and can be customized with tiger and zebra print skins.

Toshiba Quad core processor

Toshiba just gave us a peep at their latest laptop line, harnessing the power of the PS3’s all-powerful Cell processor to make throwing HD video around as easy as flipping open the lid.
The new Qosmio laptops use the Cell to create what Tosh is calling the “Toshiba Quad Core Processor”. It works in partnership with the main processor, to make light work of upscaling standard definition DVDs, as well as opening up tons of clever applications.
As well as upscaling video footage in real time, the graphical grunt of the Cell lets the laptops’ high-resolution webcams analyse pictures to recognise gestures.
Wave a hand, and a video will skip. Hold up a palm and it’ll pause. Use a ‘thumbs up’ gesture and you can control the mouse pointer from across the room. Its reactions are lightening quick, and it’s amazingly accurate.
It’s the next-generation of the facial recognition tech we’ve already spied from Toshiba, you can see a video of that in action here.

IBM ThinkPad 141 Bundle

The centerpiece of this deal is a recertified ThinkPad T41 notebook with 512MB of RAM, 60GB hard drive, DVD/CD-RW, a 14.1-inch display and Windows XP Pro. Like all IBM laptops, the T41 comes loaded with the ThinkVantage software to help manage your system and secure your data.
The 14.1-inch T41 weighs less than five pounds and measures just one inch thick.
The bundle includes a docking station that makes it quick and easy to connect to peripherals and an external monitor. An extended 9-cell battery and power adapter comes in the box.
It’s powered by a 1.7GHz Intel Pentium M processor, which is slow by today’s standards, but good enough to power through Microsoft Office applications and basic photo editing. I just used a friend’s T41 with similar specs and web browsing with its 802.11b/g WiFi connection

From all the Toshiba laptops I talked about, this Dynabook version codenamed RX1/T9A is probably one of the best in the weigh department – only 850grams. As a consequence this means other parts of the laptop are also small, and that is why it measures 19.5mm of thickness.

Sony VAIO N laptop

I've found the best laptop for college, as of June 2007, while working on the cheapest laptop comparison chart. The chart shows that Sony VAIO N Series laptop in its basic configuration offers the best value for the money today. Sony VAIO N is only the lowest-end Sony laptop but it comes with some of the most advanced CPU Processor and features available today.Priced at $899 (VGN-N320E/W) and equipped with Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.6 GHz processor, all necessary ports and, in addition, with the ExpressCard that enables laptop to connect to even more external devices, Sony N series is the best laptop for college today for the lowest price. Sure you can buy cheaper Dell or Compaq for around $499 with an instant rebate today ... but these lowest-end models are not nearly equipped with the features and performance. College students often find themselves in the environment where they have to use many different connectivity options and be able to work fast while having multiple applications running simultaneiously. The best laptop should also be designed from a sturdy material to take any college abuse and should last through at least 4 years without repairs - repairing or exchanging your laptop while away from home on campus is often a tough task. Sony brand fits perfectly to all these requirements, Sony Vaio N fits well for a college student budget. And it's good looking too ;). See all specs or buy it at Sony.

sony-vaio-pinnnk-notebook-laptop

Just like clothing styles, the VAIO C Series reflects individuality with such color offerings for the casing as seashell white, blush pink, spring green, espresso black and urban gray. Complementary colors frame the touchpad of the unit and accentuate the casings, while a dimpled texture adorns the palm rest of the PC. PC.

Here at Crave, as we stare longingly at our giant chocolate Easter eggs, we can't help but remember that oh-so-long-ago New Year's resolution to finally get fit. Thankfully, the latest laptops are doing the work for us -- they're slim, trim and a whole lot sexier.
You'd have to be living in a rabbit hole to not know that thin is in this year. Just 19mm at its thickest point, Apple's MacBook Air sports one of the most innovative designs we've ever seen. But it's not alone in the department of sleek. The Toshiba Portege R500 tips the scales at a meagre 779g, which isn't much more than a loaf of bread. Like a gym membership card, you could easily put the Tosh in your bag and forget it's there.

He made a simple white table which has a place especially for Samsung’s laptop computer. Basically it’s a simple table with a built-in notebook. Of course, you can remove the laptop from table, but afterwards the table looks ugly and not really all that useful. Anyway this idea would be useful as a desk office. - Via - Yankodesign

New Mini Laptops The latest laptops and netbooks
New mini laptops recently made available show evidence of an ever improving netbook market. From its humble beginnings as the Asus Eee PC 701, the netbook has developed into a sizeable percentage of the mobile computing industry. Here are some of the most headline-grabbing new mini laptops.
HP mini 2140: Business netbook
This higher end ‘business’ notebook is essentially a hybrid of Hewlett Packards two successful netbooks so far, the 2133 mini-note and the , combining the formers aluminium body with the latters chassis and interface. Of course, it retains the excellent keyboard of other hp notebook computers, stretching to the edges of the tray allowing for the keys to be as large as possible. Oddly, few netbooks are built like this – but it would seem like common sense wouldn’t it?
The HP mini 2140, whilst probably the best HP mini laptop does cost a tad more than the HP mini 1000 (currently, you can only get it as the “Compaq mini 700” in the UK), for a bit of buffed up body work, it’s questionable whether or not it’s worth it. The Compaq mini 700 has a plastic chassis – leave it down to personal taste!
window.google_render_ad();
Acer Aspire One .. but a big one
Now you’d think this isn’t really a new netbook … and you’d be right. But what the geniuses at Acer have realized is that they can replicated their success but with a fractionally larger new mini laptops – 10 inch models to be specific.
Several computer manufacturers such as Samsung and HP have only developed 10 inch models and indeed Asus, the netbook pioneer, has announced it is discontinuing it’s other lines to focus entirely on the 10 inch lines.
Acers effort features a restyled body, has changed the mouse buttons to beneath the touchpad, not the sides like the smaller model (relief!), and a slightly larger keyboard – however it doesn’t completely stretch out like the HP netbooks.
The battery problem remains, in that some models are shipping with 3-cell batteries as standard. This will give a limiting and frustrating 2-3 hours of battery life, and we recommend buying a 6 or even 9-cell battery to give satisfactory and more practical battery life – Asus realized this long ago when it launched it’s Asus Eee PC 901 and 1000 models, fitting 6-cell batteries as standard.

OLPC laptops

Five million to come by the end of the year, and 2500 to be sent out by the end of the month, the OLPC ‘XO’ laptop still costs US $150 to manufacture, US $50 more than the goal of the US $100 laptop. One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) representatives say they’ll keep the specifications of the OLPC laptop stable to drive costs down, rather than add new features, to reach the US $100 goal. This is expected to be achieved by 2010, when 150 million XO laptops are expected to be shipped across the globe – something that’s been said to be worrying Microsoft a little due to the fact so many laptops out there won’t be running Microsoft Windows, although how seriously Microsoft takes this is unknown – it was reported several months ago that Nicholas Negroponte had invited Microsoft to develop a version of Windows suitable for the device and that Microsoft was looking into it.
